Fashion Photographers are the people that create the adverts we see for the clothes we wear. They take and create the photo’s in a way which makes us want to buy the clothes.

These are the top 10 fashion photographers in the world:

1: Steven Meisel– Famous for promoting the career of several supermodels including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Coco Rocha, Steven first gained fame with his work for Vogue magazine, both Italian and US editions.

2: Richard Warren– Warren began his career in photography at the age of 21 when he started assisting numerous photographers like Bill King, Denis Piel, Robert Mapplethorpeand Bill King. However, he got his first big break during his stay in Milan, Italy.

3: Mario Testino– Basically from Peru, Mario Testino is a very renowned photographer who has shot some of the prime fashion names in the world along with prominent celebrities including Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Cameron Diaz and Angelina Jolie.

4: Patrick Demarchelier– Patrick Demarchelier worked for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, first in September 1992 which resulted in a 12-year collaboration. Demarchelier has shot international advertising campaigns for Dior, Louis Vuitton, Celine, TAG Heuer, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Lacoste, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren.

5: Steven Klein– Highly creative, Steven Klein’s artistic glamour that he brings in his images may be credited to his primary education in fine arts, with a focus on painting. His vibrant and bright images have emerged in magazines such as Vogue (US, French and Italian editions) and W. Klein has worked with superstars and supermodels like Madonna and Lady Gaga who both trust and admire him.

6: David LaChapelle– He is best known for his photography, which often references art history and sometimes conveys social messages. His photographic style has been described as “hyper-real and slyly subversive” and as “kitsch pop surrealism.

7: Paolo Roversi– His poignant images have been featured in campaigns for Armani, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons, Christian Dior, Alberta Ferretti and Romeo Gigli among others.

8: Ellen von Unwerth– An ex-model, Ellen Von Unwerth is acknowledged for her work that honors beauty, femininity and eroticism. The model-turned-fashion photographer became extremely successful with an advertisement featuring Claudia Schiffer in the 1990s and bagged the first prize in the International festival of Fashion photograph in 1991.

9: Juergen Teller– A German by birth, Teller’s knowledge and skill in photography is really admirable. 10: Annie Leibovitz– On 8th December, 1980, Annie had a photo shoot with Yoko and John Lennon for ‘Rolling Stone. She was the very last individual to professionally photograph Lennon, who was shot dead five hours later – making the photograph one of her most powerful and celebrated images. Leibovitz’s later images are highly provocative, theatrical, bright and memorable. She has captured many models, celebrities and public figures behind her lenses.
